Highlights⌗
I found the Scout 42 on the 40% discord. The renders looked nice, the prototypes looked amazing and I needed to have one. With shipping from the US and taxes it was quite expensive for a first try on a “real” spit keyboard but it turned out great.
I went back and forward between using regular MX-style switches or Choc v1 low profiles and finally decided to go with MX as I don’t like the one example of chocs i have. In the meantime I got the KBDcraft Israfel with Choc-V2 tactiles which are pretty good so maybe it will get a PCB swap one day.
I am using a SplitKB Aurora Corne PCB kit. This was my first time soldering smd diodes but it went well and luckily the keyboard worked the first time.
